I am a mixed-media collage artist living and working in Los Angeles.  I studied art at Los Angeles Valley College, Interior Design at UCLA and The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. I began my journey as an artist when I was old enough to hold a paintbrush. Always looking for a new means to satisfy my creative hunger, I discovered the medium of collage. Many of the great 20th Century Collage and Cubist artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Kurt Schwitters and Raymond Saunders, have influenced my work. Life cycle events, children, the environment and the world around me have been inspirations for my work.  While being predominantly abstract in nature, I still allow the viewer's imagination to find familiar images and themes.   I create my collages using the same basic design principals and structure that collage artists have traditionally followed. Each collage typically evolves from a thought, a vision, a memory, a photograph or a scrap that moves me.  I collect and use materials that others might consider trash. Old and odd bits of paper; receipts, letters, tags, found objects, etc. are recycled and turned into rich materials that become art. I enjoy being able to discover, visualize and present the beauty in discarded items.

Recently however, I have been creating commissioned pieces, as seen in my “Heritage Series” section, which incorporates family photos, letters and other personal imagery.
